Bio
Greetings from the SF Bay Area! I am a dedicated teacher of mindfulness and compassion-based programs, primarily focusing my efforts within the California prison system. My journey in this field is deeply rooted in the teachings of Buddhism and Nonviolent Communication (NVC), principles that guide my approach to personal development and healing.
In addition to group programs, I offer personalized 1-on-1 coaching, where I specialize in fostering empathy and compassion, particularly towards the parts of ourselves that need it the most. This approach is not just about transformation; it's about understanding and nurturing the deepest parts of our being.
My transition from a 25-year career in software development to mindfulness and compassion coaching was both an inward and outward journey. The transition felt daunting since I was stepping into the unknown. In order to make this transition, I applied the principles of self-compassion and self-empathy to myself that I now offer others. Embracing my own vulnerabilities and treating them with kindness and compassion has been my way. This personal experience of transformation through self-compassion deeply informs my coaching approach, allowing me to connect more authentically with those I work with and guide them through their own moments of doubt and transition.
Living by Howard Thurman's profound words - "Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive." - I have found my calling in awakening the potential and compassion inherent in each person I work with.
