Bio
I obtained my clinical psychology qualifications in Germany in 2005. After moving to Australia in 2006 I further advanced my psychology qualifications at the University of Tasmania (MSc) and become a registered psychologist in Australia (AHPRA). Upon completion in 2008, I first worked at Centacare in Tasmania assisting children and their families, adolescents, and adults with issues ranging from anxiety, depression, family and life transitions, anger, ADHD, grief and loss, trauma, family violence, stress, and burnout.
During this time I learned to adapt interventions to the individual needs of the people seeking my help. I was also greatly moved and inspired by all the children I worked with, by their creativity to come up with solutions for their own problems and their bravery to address their problems with their parents. My passion into work with kids and their parents started to grow during this period. Having had my own two children a few years later deepened this care for children and their welfare.
At a similar time I also discovered my interest into mindfulness, practising it for myself and most certainly during stressful parenting times with my own kids. I also found the practice of mindfulness incredibly useful for the clients I work with – both adults and children. This passion then led me to formally train as a a certified mindfulness trainer for children and parents with the IAM Institute for mindfulness in Belgium where I was residing and working from 2013 to the end of 2015.
After returning to Australia in early 2016, I have set my goal to continue assisting children and their families overcoming emotional and relational struggles, growing into their chosen direction, and spreading the word of mindfulness practice.
