I first began meditating when I was in college over 40 years ago. My practice has slowly developed and deepened into a regular, ongoing, essential part of my life, especially over the last 20 years following retreats with Thich Nhat Hanh. It has become a space that I can tap into not only during my daily meditation sessions, but anytime I need to come back to myself or be with myself around many different situations – a conflict with a colleague at work, feeling distant from a friend, feeling emotions that I am not sure the source of – whatever may be calling my attention, I know I have a space where I can meet it with curiosity, acceptance, understanding, kindness and compassion. It is a space where I receive guidance and inspiration. And more and more, it is a space where I feel a loving presence that can transform any upset or disharmony.
