SUMMARY:🌱 March Meeting: A New Chapter in Shaping Our Path Together
DESCRIPTION:Dear mindfulness teacher friends of the European Community of MMTCP Alumni\, 😊 \nWith open hearts\, we welcome our new members from the Class of 2025! It’s truly wonderful to see our circle of spiritual friends expanding\, infused with fresh energy and new perspectives. To stay connected between and beyond meetings\, we invite you to join our WhatsApp group—a space for informal conversations\, resource sharing\, and mutual support [Join here: http://www.bit.ly/The-European-Community-WhatsApp]. \nOur upcoming March gathering marks the beginning of a new chapter. As the seasons shift\, so does our community\, shaped by the voices\, wishes\, and intentions of those who gather. Together\, we’ll take time to envision our path ahead while honouring our roots. How do we want this space to evolve? What do we hope to nurture and create together? Should we explore a new time and date that better serves everyone? Let’s come together to explore these possibilities. SUMMARY:Lama Rod Owens: Peace and Healing in a Divided World
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a discussion led by Lama Rod Owens on how\, in our very divided and conflicted world\, how can we as meditation teachers help people move through grief\, anger\, and division towards love\, peace\, healing\, and liberation among each other and for our communities. How do we address our own emotional contradictions so that we can be more effective in resourcing and supporting the people we work with? As Lama Rod Owens says in his latest book\, The New Saints\, we are all called on to become “spiritual warriors” serving a vision of a world shaped by love. \n \nLama Rod Owens is a leading voice in a new generation of Buddhist teachers. With over 11 years of experience\, Lama Rod is highly respected among his peers and the communities that he serves. He is the author of The New Saints: From Broken Hearts to Spiritual Warriors and Love and Rage: The Path of Liberation through Anger and co-author of Radical Dharma: Talking Race\, Love and Liberation\, his teachings center on freedom\, self-expression\, and radical self-care. He has a Master of Divinity degree in Buddhist Studies from Harvard Divinity School with a focus on the intersection of social change\, identity\, and spiritual practice  \nThe session is from 12 – 1:30 pm ET;  the Zoom link is here

SUMMARY:Mentor-led Series | Alison Cohen
DESCRIPTION:Led by MMTCP Mentors\, these sessions offer a place for you to bring any and all of your teaching and practice questions and to be in sangha with alumni peers.  In each session\, mentors will offer a short talk and then offer guidance and wisdom for whatever is coming up for you – much like we had in peer groups. These sessions have been so rich and supportive that this year we are offering them twice a month and alternating times so our peers around the world can join more often.  This session will be led by Alison Cohen from 8 – 9:15 pm ET;  Zoom link is here. \n \nAlison will discuss the critical role of trust and trust-building in teaching\, and she will share a useful trust-building framework that articulates the core elements of trust. \n \n \nAlison “Ali” Cohen (she/her) is a white cisgender woman based in Washington\, DC\, who has spent 10+ years teaching mindfulness\, often alongside BIPOC colleagues. She is passionate about the intersection of community building\, contemplative practice\, and social justice. Ali is a former public high school teacher and mindfulness program director who teaches trauma-informed mindfulness practice to human beings from many walks of life\, in secular\, Buddhist\, and Jewish spaces.
