SUMMARY:MCMT : Stress Management and Mindfulness
DESCRIPTION:Facilitator Bio:  Cheryl Alexander is a certified Stress Management Consultant\, with a passion for understanding how stress can be a major factor in health.  She graduated from the MMTCP program in 2023.  Through her own healing from an autoimmune condition 25 years ago\, she found her way back to health using guided imagery\, yoga\, and meditation. During her MSW\, she completed a practicum in the Hilltribes of Thailand. It was here where she became interested in and studied Vipassana in Bangkok.  She continues to explore various other healing modalities. She has previously worked in health care supporting chronic disease prevention and tobacco cessation.  She is also part of a non-fiction writing group. \n  \n  \nWe will discuss mindfulness and the five pillars of high-level wellness as fundamental principles that promote overall well-being and balance in life. Mindfulness and stress management are complementary\, as both enhance mental well-being and reduce the negative impact of stress. We will take a closer look at stress management strategies and explore how mindfulness practices intertwine to support them.
