SUMMARY:The European Community - Alumni Association
DESCRIPTION:Hello dear European Community members\, \nI am happy to announce that the April meeting is going to be facilitated by Ruth Phillips who is going to guide us in the captivating exploration of how various fields such as neuroscience\, Eastern and Western medicine\, Buddhism and yoga meet in the area of interception or feeling tone (Vedāna in the Pāli language). Ruth offers us some resources as orientation for the upcoming conversation: \n1. The following quotes: \n“Feeling tone is the start of our experience unfolding. It has been described as a master key because if it is unlocked\, then reactivity is stemmed at its source.” (Joseph Goldstein) \n“«Interoception»\, the constant monitoring of the state of the body\, carries on largely below the level of conscious awareness. But it is absolutely crucial\, because it determines affect – those feelings of pleasantness or unpleasantness\, arousal or non-arousal that are always present\, and which feed into our emotions.”Lisa Feldman Barrett \n“When enough equanimity is present\, we can stop the cycle (of dependent arising) after vedanā and be with sensory contact and feelings without further reactivity. This non-reactive presence is the heart of both meditative tranquility (samatha) and insight (vipassanā).” (Sean Oakes) \n2. An interview with renown neuroscientist and psychologist Lisa Feldman-Barrett \nhttps://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/worklife-with-adam-grant/id1346314086?i=1000641458657 \nThe April meeting will take place in the new time window from 6 pm to 7:30 pm CET on April 3rd (the first Wednesday of the month). \nJoin Zoom Meeting \nhttps://us06web.zoom.us/j/6678748357?pwd=obXFYfbwQPbQDDpVn6gOUrHRUN7clZ.1&omn=81767516094 \nMeeting ID: 667 874 8357 \nPasscode: mindful \nI hope you’ll join us to engage with this thought-provoking theme\, and I’m very curious about where the discussion will take us! \nWith gratitude\, \nRobert

SUMMARY:MNVC Sangha March Meeting
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to our monthly NVC gathering to connect and learn together. We start with a short sit followed by a check-in and then some NVC activity that the group would like to explore. I like to focus my NVC practice on the “roots”\, our feelings and needs\, rather than how to say things in a way that creates a particular outcome. \n  \nZoom:  https://us02web.zoom.us/j/86449117228 \n  \nNew folks without any NVC experience are welcome. myempathycoach.com

SUMMARY:Emerging Leaders Launchpad
DESCRIPTION:  \n  \nMindfulness teachers are all leaders. We have to be. It comes with the territory. For starters\, we lead meditation sessions. But there’s way more to it than that. \n  \nTo attract people to our sessions\, we have to lead them in the direction of joining\, etc. \n  \nAnd in the course of a session or program\, we have to lead them to want to return. \n  \nThere’s no escaping this…it’s just the way things are. \n  \nBut somehow\, many people think leadership is a natural trait\, like playing a sport. You either have it or you don’t. \n  \nNothing could be further from the truth. \n  \nAs mindfulness teachers\, we have perhaps a special invitation – and a unique superpower: the opportunity (or calling) to lead from the heart! \n  \nSo\, how are you doing as a leader right now? Where is your mindfulness teaching career? \n  \nWhat’s working? What isn’t? How do you feel about it all? \n  \nAre you sailing along\, growing a community? Or\, like many of us\, are you still trying to figure out how to get off the ground? Or do you find yourself somewhere in between? \n  \nWhat is the current reality on the ground? Warts and all… \n  \nAnd where is your heart in all of this? Are you living the life your heart is calling you to do? \n  \nThe Emerging Leaders Launchpad has a purpose to create a community of mutual support and friendship for fellow MMTCP graduates to overcome whatever may stand in the way of them taking the next step(s) – and God knows\, there are many obstacles that can appear – real or imagined – technical or personal – to somehow thwart our best intentions. \n  \nWhile the sangha’s aim will constantly be to meet the needs of its members and will adapt as may be required\, each session will include: \n  \n·      A Mastermind session in which a volunteer member poses a question to the group s/he wishes to think about – like how to grow my practice\, get people to return\, what to teach\, tools to use\, etc. \n  \n·      Breakout Room(s) – in which members can discuss relevant issues \n·      Individual check-ins and group discussion. \n  \nAs the saying goes\, it takes a village. And we are a village! An interconnected village. \n  \nSo come help us get started. We’ll laugh. We’ll cry. And we’ll sing and dance our way to a better world. \n  \nStarting on March 23 at 10:30-12:00 noon\, EDT (GMT-5). \n  \nSee you there! \n  \nWarmly\, \n  \nSteve \n  \n  \n
